The library at DeVry Houston is technology and business-oriented along with humanities and social sciences resources to meet the needs of students.

Monday Through Thursday: 9 am to 9 pm
Friday: 9 am to 7 pm
Saturday: 9 am to 4 pm
Hours may be truncated during holidays and similar events.

Fines

Overdue Books: .25 cents a day.
Overdue Videos: 1.00 per day.

The library is a proud sponsor of the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Any fine (excluding lost items) may be paid by donating cans of dog or cat food. Every .25 to 50 cents in fines is equal to a can of pet food donated through the library. Should the patron choose to pay the fine in full, we accept exact change in cash or check only. All proceeds will go to the local HSPCA shelter.

Library Instruction

Individual and Class Instruction on finding information relevant to a particular program or subject area is available by contacting the library director. For class research instruction, please contact the library director through email and include the course name, room number, amount of students, time of class meeting  and which particular subject areas are being researched by students, if applicable.  Please allow at least one week notice between request and library class instruction. An instructor must be present during the library research class.

Access to thousands of electronics books is available from netLibrary on a wide variety of topics. You can use the search function free of charge, however, checkout of e-books requires setting up an account.

Safari Books Online
Safari is an electronic reference library for programmers and IT professionals. Search here for electronic versions of a broad range of technical books on such topics as Programming, Certification, Networking, E-commerce, Graphics, Hardware, and more.

Credo Reference Books
Credo is a collection of 100 high quality, constantly updated Reference Books, Dictionaries, Encyclopedias and Atlases, with a focus on Business, Medical and General Information Sources.

Hoover's
Hoover's online database offers comprehensive coverage of over 12 million public, private and non-US companies and over 300 industries. The information is compiled from thousands of sources including Dun & Bradstreet, Mergent, magazines, newspapers, and industry journals. Information can be used to prospect for new business, prepare for presentations, research vendors, suppliers, partners, investments, and more.

ReferenceUSA
ReferenceUSA is a business and marketing database which shares essential data on over 14 million US and Canadian businesses as well as on 131 million US and Canadian residents.

EBSCOhost
Provides full text of articles from many fields and disciplines, including the Harvard Business Review through its Business Source Elite database.

Opposing Viewpoints Opposing Viewpoints allows the reader to gain insight on more than one side of a topical issue; allowing a deeper understanding on subject matters being explored.

Science and Technology

AccessScience
AccessScience is a database of science reference materials from scientific encyclopedias and dictionaries. The database also includes daily updated news sources with relevant links to other sources.

Faulkner FACCTS
Faulkner FACCTS provides its users with a complete computer and communications information base containing comprehensive coverage of computer systems, software, networking, and telecom technologies. It includes trends, vendor profiles, and product solutions.

CINAHL/MedLine
CINAHL/MedLine is a comprehensive source for Nursing and Health-related literature, and comes with select articles in Full Text.

Encyclopedias and Dictionary Access

Encyclopedia Britannica Online
With even more articles than the 32-volume print set (also in our Library), Britannica Online includes over 200,000 Web links from Britannica articles plus online access to journals and magazines. Also provided is Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary & Thesaurus, and updated world atlas, and thousands of video clips.

Grove Art Dictionary
Grove Art Online comprises the full text of The Dictionary of Art, edited by Jane Turner (1996, 34 vols) and The Oxford Companion to Western Art, edited by Hugh Brigstocke (2001).
